In Memoriam:

It is with deep sadness that we regret the passing of our friend and voice of the Annual TxSWANA Truck, Mechanic, and Landfill Road-E-O, Elijah Wayne Whitehead (July 28, 1945-September 29, 2003).  Wayne was a former member of TxSWANA who served the City of Houston Department of Solid Waste Management in several capacities:  refuse laborer, truck driver, and as safety coordinator.  His baritone voice and humor made each annual road-e-o fun to attend.  Mr. Whitehead's passion for assisting his fellow man and love of family will be missed.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
