Summer is here - and things with your TxSWANA Board have heated up, along with the weather. Here are our current topics:
1) Board Elections: Many of the Director positions on the Board are up for election - 10, in fact. This year, under the revised Chapter By-laws, we are using current technology to make

VOTING EASIER for all members to use - via email. You will have received an email from the Chapter requesting nominations for the Board positions; followed by a ballot with a Board-recommended slate. You can return the email as your means of voting. And if you missed your email, you can simply go online at www.txswana.org. You can retrieve a ballot there. You will need to know your SWANA membership number to vote - and then just email the ballot (or fax) as per the instructions on the ballot.
2) Texas Legislative Session is complete ! There were many bills affecting our industry and requiring careful moderation by your Board. Please read Brian Sledge's article in this issue for the details.
3) TxSWANA Road-e-o for 2007 was a hoot ! The City of College Station did a FANTASTIC job of hosting the event. Participants came from across the state and enjoyed a day of fun and competition on the TAMU campus and the city's excellent landfill. Read more inside !
